Christmas in NC - Dec 06
After spending Christmas day with my family we made the 13 hour drive to Charlotte, NC for our second Christmas. Did I mention that I love second Christmas? Sadly we missed his sister. We arrived the day she left b/c she had to get back to work. Luckily we were able to see his Uncle Dave and Aunt Karen. Per the usual, we ate a lot of food, A LOT OF YUMMY FOOD! I explained to JR on the last night that fondue was fine for dinner... I was eating fruit with my chocolate! We played games with the family. We zoomed around in his mom's Mini Cooper. While we are in the car shopping mode, we quickly realized that the Mini was not roomy enough for JR. I loved zooming around in it. Unfortunately before we knew it our time with his family was up. It was a great Christmas. It was a great trip... Before we know it, next Christmas will be here.

What I Got
I have the biggest smile as we sit here just chatting, the BF finishing the rest of the Christmas cards, sipping on some wine and listening to Sublime. It's really just that simple, some quality time and good conversation with the man I love. We're not lost in a move or TV show, which I enjoy on most evenings. We're not hooked on seperate computers surfing the net (shhh... I'm blogging and talking as he writes). We're not in two different rooms. We're interacting... It's been a tough holiday season loosing gramma-rita just three days before Thanksgiving. However my family has been right there together, the bf included as he is part of the family. I've been super busy with work. He's been finishing up his last semester at school. Most nights I find my self stumbling through the door in sheer exhaustion only to collapse on the couch... Tonight I left work on time. He got out of class early. We met for out for a drink and then decided to head home. So here we are, just enjoying each other's company, sipping some wine, and listening to some tunes...

It couldn't be any better right now, I got it all. I absolutely love this man... I hope that all of my few readers are having a great holiday season with those that they love because that is what it's all about.

A bit of this and that
Today was the funeral, small and quiet. Then it was a not-so-quiet day with the three little nieces reaking havoc on my parents house. It was good to hear all that laughter though. Also, thanks to all for your thoughts and prayers at this time. It really means a lot. I must also thank the bf for being so patient with me. With the trip, the hospital stay and then funeral I've just been off the charts. He's been right there quietly supporting me.

And life goes back to normal, Mom & I went shopping.

My mother & I were driving back from the mall tonight when she looked at the temperature thingy inside the car. Shhh... I'm not mechanically inclined. 60 degrees outside at 7pm on December 1st here in MA. There is something not quite right about that. Mom said she hopes this doesn't mean winter will last until May. I assured her it was global warming and we'd have to live on the boat soon because the ice bergs were melting... However, we may want to trade up the boat. I don't know, something with a cabin. Something bigger than 20 ft. I mean, would you want to be a boat with 9 other adults. ( members of your immediate with significant others in just a 20 ft boat...

Well must go search Craig's List for a bigger boat. Hope you all have a good weekend.
