Woo-hoo

Not only are we going to Jamaica, but my sister & her boyfriend booked the same trip!!! I am so excited. I can't stop bouncing around!

In other news, I did some shopping this weekend. I searched high & low for a duvet cover. The one that I LOVED is no longer sold at Crate and Barrell. However, I found a great one that I love almost as much at Target! Steal!!! So I did some house shopping with my FSIL who is also house shopping since they just bought. I also got out of some of the house cleaning. I owe the bf big time!

I'm sad, sad, sad...

I got up at 9:30 am today. It is my day off...
Moved to the couch and watched some tv.
I surfed around trying to find a quick vacation somewhere warm.
The bf came home early at 2:00pm to find me still in my pjs.
However, I had found the vacation.
I showered.
Did some work from home despite the day off...
Looked for a slipcover and duvet cover, new things for a new home...
Ate dinner & watched a movie.
Got back into my pajamas.
Bought the slip cover and duvet cover.
Tooled around on the net.

I never made it home to help my brother paint...
I never made it to my house to finish cleaning before the moving in starts...

The seven degree weather plus wind helped me be a lazy, lazy girl today! It's a sad thing though.

Always Catching Up

I think that has become the story of my blogging life... Work has been great, but crazy. I find myself working longer days than usual. However, I love my job so it hasn't been a problem. During the week I'm wiped and on the weekends we're back in Fairhaven cleaning the house so we can move in soon. I'll miss Newport, but it will be nice to have a home.

So let's see, outside of work all of the followed has happened.

• Had a great Christmas with the family & bf
  
• Gained a family member officially, my brother proposed to his gf.
  
• My sister finally opened up to having a bf. Thank god he stuck around for 2+ years. She's glowing and the family couldn't be happier that she is happy. Plus we really like him.
  
• We went to NC to see the bf's family.
  
• Spent New Year's in DC with friends.
  
• I drank ginger ale and was in bed at 12:30. He had one beer and was in bed right behind me.
  
• The bf went back to work after a year off! No more sleeping late as I get ready for work. :)
  
• Getting ready for our next move
  
• The bf has helped out with my brother's new house
  
• Went skiing for the first time, did well. No broken bones, only 2 falls.
  
• Started planning vac for Janet's bday. Vegas here we come!
  

In the next month I'm looking forward to the following:

• Skiing again, I promised the bf.
  
• Celtics game & night in Boston, Feb 2nd
  
• Bruins game & another night in Boston, Feb 10th
  
• Jim Gaffigan, Feb 16th
  
• Moving in to the house by Feb 20th, right near the ocean & close to the family! :)
  
• One wonderful year with the bf, Feb 17th!
  
• Going to Jamaica, Feb 22nd - Feb 26th!!!
  

It looks like things will continue to be busy for the next month. Then again, it will probably continue that way. That's life, and it's a good one. So no complaints from me. Well now it's time to get ready to head back to F-town for hopefully our last weekend of house cleaning before the move! Hope all have a wonderful weekend!!!

Ski Trip - Jan 07

Well apparently after 29 years I do ski! It helped that I have an uber-patient boyfriend that is also a great teacher. Let me tell you, I was ready to throw in the towel. And not just after the first day, but after the first five minutes. No control. Slick surface. Wobbly like a baby dear. It all sounded like a recipe for disaster... Despite the freezing temperatures and numb body parts, I had a good time. I'm an overly cautious person... So I spent the first day on the bunny hill. Day 2 I was ready for some greens, well one easy green in particular. I'm cautious! I had fun, but after lunch on the last day my legs had turned to jello. I retreated to the lodge and JR hit some of the harder trails. It was a good time and I will try it again.

New things you learn

Apparently I ski! I don't much either... That could have something to do with the fact that I spend most of my time plowing down the easy trails. I was a trooper. As the by explained, I was out there doing two things I hate. 1. Standing around in the freezing cold 5 degrees with 25+ mph winds. 2. Going fast with little control to stop!

And I will be going again...

New Year's Eve in DC - 2007

After our second Christmas celebration with JR's family, we were off to DC to see some of his college buddies. We had a few days to tour the city before NYE. The new monument that I was excited to see, the Air Force Memorial!!! We also hit the Lincoln Memorial, which is JR's favorite. NYE we made pizzas, drank soda, played games, watched the ball drop and called a night... Apparently we are all getting old! It was the perfect NYE! Just like that, the holidays were over and 2007 is here...
